The 33Mega platform

The Atom

File and object storage for media workflows, delivered as a single, fully managed system — built on Ceph and standard Dell hardware, and supported around the clock by the people who built it.

One platform

File and object. One namespace. One team.

The Atom provides high-performance file storage and standards-compliant S3 object storage from a single system, under one namespace, supported by one team.

Editing, archive, content management, cloud integration and AI workloads run against the same platform. Block volumes are available for the infrastructure around your content. No silos to reconcile, no second vendor to chase.

Built for performance

NVMe storage accelerates metadata and active workloads, and intelligent data placement sustains throughput for high-bitrate video and restores from archive.

Performance scales with the cluster as it grows — a property of the architecture, not a promise.

Proven where it counts

Ceph stores CERN's scientific data and powers many of the world's largest clouds, with more than 10,000 deployments worldwide. It is one of the most capable storage technologies in existence — flexible, resilient and standards-based.

But open source is a platform, not a product. What was missing was a company that packages it, takes responsibility for the result, and understands media workflows. That is 33Mega.

Open by design

No proprietary anything.

  • Powered by Ceph — open-source software, not code we control.
  • Standard Dell enterprise hardware, bought on the open market, owned by you.
  • Data in open formats, served over standards-compliant S3 and standard file protocols.
  • No proprietary file systems, no closed formats, no single vendor's roadmap.
  • Your data remains readable by open tools for as long as you keep it.

Architecture

Reliable by architecture.

Data is stored in multiple copies or erasure-coded across the cluster. The platform is self-healing: when a drive or server fails, data is rebuilt automatically and operation continues. Hardware failure is an expected event, not an emergency.

Fully managed, fully supported

What support means in practice.

One number to call, answered by media workflow experts rather than a triage script. The commitments are contractual, not aspirational.

We watch it

24×7 software monitoring. We usually see problems before you do.

We maintain it

Upgrades are planned, tested and performed by us — proactively, on your schedule.

We fix it

Four-hour software SLA. Hardware faults handled end to end, with next-business-day replacement.

We own it

One team owns the outcome. You never manage two vendors or referee a support dispute.

Lower cost, explained

Cheaper for structural reasons, not promotional ones.

Standard hardware bought at market prices. Open-source software with no proprietary licence. A lean company without enterprise-vendor overhead. You pay for hardware and for support — the two things that actually cost money.

We also extend the life of hardware rather than engineer reasons to replace it. Growth is added without disruption or data migration.

Built around your requirements

Sized to the job.

Every deployment is designed around the workflow it serves — capacity from around 100 TB to multiple petabytes, performance sized to the job, and growth added without disruption.

Tell us about the workflow. We'll design the platform, validate the hardware, build it, integrate it and run it.
